Medicare Made Easy, Part 2

This webinar picks up where Part 1 left off. It explains alternatives to Original Medicare (Parts A and B), including Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C). The different types of plans are discussed, along with how to enroll in them. We also discuss Medicare Supplement plans (i.e., Medigap), including  how and when to enroll in them and requirements of federal and Montana law. We end with some tips about how to prevent and detect Medicare fraud and abuse and provide a review of resources.

Renting Cars

Ever had a client ask you if it was necessary to “buy that insurance” when renting a car? Do you know what enormous coverage gaps exist if your client is insured by a personal or business auto policy and does NOT purchase the collision or loss damage waiver offered by the rental company? After completion of this course, students will understand:

  • How the personal and business auto policies treat owned and non-owned autos differently
  • Some of the major contractual provisions of car rental agreements—and how they conflict with the personal and business auto policies
  • How the PAP and BAP do not provide adequate coverage when policyholders rent cars and do not purchase contractual waiver provisions
  • Why recommending the purchase of a rental car company’s collision or loss damage waiver is almost always recommended

Instructor: Linda McHenry (formerly Linda Faulkner)

This one-hour course discusses ridesharing, how Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) such as Uber and Lyft differ from other motor carriers, how Montana laws regulate the insuring of TNCs and their drivers, and how TNC drivers should obtain adequate insurance for their operations.
